Refund & Cancellation Policy

Our rules for refunds, cancellations, service acceptance, wallet payments and disputes.

Effective: October 28, 2026Last updated: October 12, 2026

1. Introduction

Welcome to WorkAbeg, operated by Work Abeg Technologies Limited ("WorkAbeg," "we," "our," or "us").

This Refund & Cancellation Policy explains the circumstances under which buyers and service providers may request cancellations, refunds, or adjustments to payments made through the WorkAbeg platform.

Our goal is to provide a fair, transparent, and secure marketplace where buyers can confidently hire service providers and providers are fairly compensated for their work.

By using WorkAbeg, you agree to this Refund & Cancellation Policy, together with our Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, and Dispute Resolution Policy.

2. How Payments Work on WorkAbeg

WorkAbeg operates a managed payment system designed to protect buyers and service providers.

When a buyer purchases a service:

1. The buyer pays using an available payment method or their WorkAbeg wallet balance.

2. Payment is processed through an authorized payment provider, such as Flutterwave or Stripe.

3. Funds are allocated to the transaction and held from provider payout while the service is pending completion, subject to applicable payment-provider arrangements.

4. Once the service is completed and accepted, the provider's eligible earnings are released according to WorkAbeg's payout procedures.

5. Where a dispute arises, WorkAbeg may temporarily suspend the related provider payout while reviewing the transaction.

WorkAbeg facilitates payments and dispute resolution but does not guarantee the quality, suitability, or outcome of every service.

WorkAbeg is not a bank, and WorkAbeg wallet balances are not bank deposits.

3. Eligibility for Refunds

Buyers may qualify for a full or partial refund under the following circumstances:

3.1 Service Not Delivered

A buyer may qualify for a full refund where:

• The provider fails to deliver the agreed service.

• The provider does not commence the service within the agreed timeframe and no alternative arrangement is accepted.

• The provider becomes unavailable and cannot reasonably fulfill the order.

• The provider cancels the order before providing any service.

3.2 Service Significantly Different From Description

A buyer may qualify for a full or partial refund if the delivered service materially differs from the agreed service description, specifications, or deliverables.

WorkAbeg may request supporting evidence, including chat history, photographs, files, or other relevant documentation.

3.3 Incomplete or Partially Completed Services

Where a provider has completed only part of the agreed service, WorkAbeg may authorize a partial refund based on:

• The portion of work satisfactorily completed.

• The original agreement between buyer and provider.

• Evidence of work performed.

• Expenses reasonably incurred with the buyer's authorization.

• The circumstances leading to noncompletion.

The provider may receive compensation for verifiable work performed, while the buyer may receive a refund for the undelivered portion.

3.4 Unauthorized or Duplicate Charges

Buyers may request an investigation and applicable refund where:

• The same transaction was charged more than once.

• A payment was successfully collected but was not properly credited or allocated.

• A charge occurred without the buyer's authorization.

Unauthorized payments may also be subject to investigation by the relevant financial institution or payment processor.

4. Cancellation Policy

4.1 Cancellation Before Work Begins

Buyers may request cancellation before the provider begins work.

Where no service has been performed and no nonrefundable, previously disclosed expenses have been incurred, the buyer will generally qualify for a full refund of the service amount.

4.2 Cancellation After Work Begins

Where the provider has already started the service, cancellation does not automatically qualify the buyer for a full refund.

WorkAbeg may determine an appropriate partial refund based on the work completed, evidence submitted, and expenses incurred.

4.3 Provider-Initiated Cancellation

Where a provider cancels an order without delivering the service, the buyer will generally receive a full refund of the service amount.

If the provider has partially completed the service, WorkAbeg may review whether partial compensation is justified.

4.4 Mutually Agreed Cancellation

Buyers and providers may mutually agree to cancel an order.

Any refund arrangement must be processed through WorkAbeg to ensure proper transaction records and payment reconciliation.

5. Service Completion and Acceptance

Once a provider marks an order as completed, the buyer will generally have 72 hours, as specified for the order, to review the submitted work and either:

• Accept the completed service.

• Request an applicable revision.

• Raise a dispute with supporting information.

The applicable review period will be displayed in the order details.

If the buyer does not respond within the stated review period, WorkAbeg may automatically mark the order as accepted and initiate the provider payout process, provided that the buyer was informed of the deadline and applicable exceptions.

An order that has been accepted or automatically completed may no longer qualify for an ordinary cancellation refund.

However, WorkAbeg may review subsequent claims involving fraud, unauthorized payments, material misrepresentation, or other circumstances required by applicable law.

6. Refunds to WorkAbeg Wallets

Where a refund is approved for an order paid using a WorkAbeg wallet, the refundable amount will ordinarily be returned to the buyer's WorkAbeg wallet.

Refunded funds may be used toward eligible future purchases on the platform.

A refund to a WorkAbeg wallet does not necessarily mean that the amount is immediately eligible for withdrawal.

WorkAbeg may apply reasonable security checks, payment verification, and withdrawal restrictions to prevent fraud, money laundering, payment abuse, or unauthorized transactions.

Wallet funds originating from recent card deposits may be subject to additional restrictions.

7. Refunds to Original Payment Methods

Buyers who funded their WorkAbeg wallet using a debit card, credit card, bank transfer, or another supported payment method may request a review of available refund options.

Where supported by the payment processor, transaction status, and applicable law, WorkAbeg may process an eligible refund to the original payment method.

Refunds to original payment methods are subject to:

• Verification of the original payment.

• Payment processor capabilities and restrictions.

• Applicable fraud-prevention and compliance requirements.

• The availability of funds and the status of the underlying transaction.

• Applicable banking and payment network rules.

WorkAbeg does not guarantee that every wallet deposit can be reversed to the original payment method.

Where a legally required refund cannot be processed through the original payment channel, WorkAbeg will work with the buyer to determine an appropriate lawful alternative.

8. Wallet Deposits and Withdrawal Restrictions

Funding a WorkAbeg wallet is intended primarily for legitimate marketplace transactions.

WorkAbeg may restrict immediate withdrawal of newly deposited funds, particularly where no corresponding marketplace transaction has occurred.

To protect users and the platform:

• Wallet top-ups are not intended as a money-transfer or cash-advance service.

• Users may not use WorkAbeg to circumvent payment network restrictions.

• WorkAbeg may require identity or payment verification before approving withdrawals.

• Suspicious funding and withdrawal patterns may trigger additional review.

• WorkAbeg may temporarily restrict transactions where reasonably necessary to investigate suspected fraud or comply with applicable law.

These restrictions do not override any refund or withdrawal rights guaranteed by applicable law.

9. Processing Fees and Refund Deductions

Payments made through WorkAbeg may involve third-party processing fees, currency conversion charges, or other disclosed transaction costs.

Where a refund is approved:

• The refundable service amount will be determined according to the circumstances of the order.

• Third-party processing fees may be nonrefundable where permitted by law and disclosed before payment.

• WorkAbeg may refund applicable platform fees in full or proportionately, depending on the refund decision.

• Buyers will not be charged undisclosed refund penalties.

Where a refund is required because of an error attributable to WorkAbeg, the buyer will not bear additional charges resulting from that error.

Where a payment was unauthorized or improperly processed, applicable consumer protection laws and payment network rules will take precedence.

10. Dispute Resolution and Partial Refunds

Where a buyer and provider disagree about service delivery, quality, cancellation, or payment, either party may open a dispute through WorkAbeg.

WorkAbeg may review:

1. The original service description and order requirements.

2. In-app messages and agreed modifications.

3. Evidence of service delivery or attempted delivery.

4. Photographs, documents, timestamps, or other relevant records.

5. Statements and supporting information from both parties.

Following its review, WorkAbeg may:

• Approve a full refund.

• Approve a partial refund.

• Authorize provider payment for verified work completed.

• Request an additional revision or mutually agreed resolution.

• Deny a refund request where the evidence does not support it.

WorkAbeg will seek a fair and reasonable outcome based on the evidence, contractual terms, and applicable law.

Decisions made through the platform do not remove a user's statutory rights or rights to pursue remedies through appropriate legal or financial channels.

11. Personal Errands and Location-Based Services

For personal errands, pickups, inspections, and other location-based services, refund eligibility depends on the actual work performed.

For example:

Provider did not attend or attempt the errand: A full refund may be approved.

Provider attended the agreed location but could not complete the errand because of circumstances beyond their control: A partial refund may be approved, with reasonable compensation for verified time, travel, or expenses where agreed in advance.

Provider completed the agreed errand with acceptable proof of performance: The service may be considered fulfilled even where the buyer is dissatisfied with an outcome outside the provider's control.

Providers must not falsely claim completion or submit fabricated evidence.

WorkAbeg may request location information, photographs, receipts, or other relevant proof where appropriate and lawful.

12. Nonrefundable Circumstances

Refunds may generally be denied where:

• The service was completed in accordance with the agreed requirements and accepted by the buyer.

• The buyer changes their mind after satisfactory completion.

• The buyer fails to provide necessary information or access despite reasonable opportunities to do so.

• The buyer requests services or deliverables outside the original agreement without agreeing to additional charges.

• The buyer attempts to obtain a refund through false claims or manipulated evidence.

These exclusions do not apply where a refund is required by law, where fraud is established, or where another applicable provision of this policy requires a different outcome.

13. Refund Processing Time

WorkAbeg aims to review refund requests promptly and provide updates where further investigation is required.

Once approved:

• WorkAbeg wallet refunds: Generally processed within 1–3 business days.

• Original card or bank refunds: Generally expected within 5–15 business days, depending on the payment processor and receiving financial institution.

• Complex disputes: May require additional investigation before a decision is reached.

These are estimated processing periods, not guaranteed deadlines. Actual processing times may vary, and any mandatory legal deadlines will take precedence.

14. International Payments and Currency Conversion

For international buyers, payments may be subject to exchange rates, cross-border processing charges, and currency conversion fees.

Where a refund is issued:

• The refund may be processed in the original transaction currency or another supported settlement currency.

• Exchange rate movements may affect the amount ultimately received.

• Foreign exchange and international banking charges may not always be recoverable.

• Refund methods depend on the capabilities of the payment processor used.

Any applicable statutory refund rights remain unaffected.

15. Chargebacks and Payment Reversals

Buyers should contact WorkAbeg support first where practical so that payment concerns can be investigated promptly.

However, buyers retain their right to contact their bank or payment provider and exercise any applicable chargeback or payment dispute rights.

If a chargeback is initiated, WorkAbeg may temporarily restrict the disputed transaction or related wallet funds while the payment provider investigates.

Users must not knowingly submit fraudulent chargebacks or attempt to obtain duplicate refunds for the same payment.

16. Fraud Prevention and Abuse

WorkAbeg reserves the right, subject to applicable law, to investigate suspected refund abuse, payment fraud, collusion, false delivery claims, and manipulation of dispute evidence.

Where reasonable and lawful, WorkAbeg may temporarily restrict affected transactions, suspend accounts, request additional verification, or refer suspected unlawful activity to relevant authorities.

Users will not lose legally protected refund rights solely because an investigation has been initiated.

17. How to Request a Refund

Buyers may submit a refund request through the WorkAbeg application by:

1. Opening the relevant order.

2. Selecting the available support, cancellation, or dispute option.

3. Explaining the reason for the refund request.

4. Uploading supporting evidence where necessary.

5. Submitting the request for review.

Alternatively, buyers may contact:

Users should include their order reference and a description of the issue. Sensitive card details, passwords, and one-time verification codes should never be shared with support.

18. Changes to This Policy

WorkAbeg may update this Refund & Cancellation Policy to reflect changes in platform operations, payment arrangements, applicable regulations, or user protection requirements.

Material changes will be communicated through appropriate platform channels.

The latest version will be available on the WorkAbeg website and mobile application.

Changes will not retroactively remove refund rights that have already accrued under applicable law.

19. Applicable Law

This policy is governed by the applicable laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, subject to any mandatory consumer protection rights or other legal protections that apply to particular users or transactions.

Nothing in this policy excludes or limits rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
