Terms of Service

The rules governing your use of WorkAbeg and protected person-to-person transactions on our platform.

Operator: Work Abeg Technologies LimitedEffective: October 5, 2026Version: 1.0

1. Introduction

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of WorkAbeg’s websites, mobile applications, services, marketplace, communications tools, payment-protection features, wallet interface, rewards programs and related services (collectively, the “Platform”). The Platform is operated by Work Abeg Technologies Limited (“WorkAbeg,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).

By creating an account, accessing the Platform, placing or accepting an order, funding a transaction, publishing a service, or otherwise using WorkAbeg, you agree to these Terms and the Privacy Policy, Dispute Resolution Policy and Community Guidelines. If you do not agree, you must not use WorkAbeg.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering binding contracts. You may not create or use an account on behalf of another person without lawful authority. WorkAbeg may require identity verification before permitting access to some or all Platform features.

3. What WorkAbeg Is

WorkAbeg provides trust infrastructure for person-to-person commerce. The Platform may facilitate discovery between buyers and independent providers, service and errand listings, identity verification, communications, ordering, transaction records, payment collection through supported payment providers, escrow/payment protection, ratings, reviews, dispute administration, rewards and marketplace functionality.

Unless expressly stated otherwise, WorkAbeg does not itself perform services advertised by independent providers and is not the employer, employee, principal, agent, partner, joint venturer or representative of a provider merely because that provider uses the Platform.

4. WorkAbeg Is Not a Logistics Company, Insurer or Property Custodian

WorkAbeg does not ordinarily take physical possession, custody or control of goods or property exchanged, inspected, collected, transported or handled by users. Where a buyer entrusts property to a provider, physical custody is between those users.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, WorkAbeg does not insure or guarantee property entrusted to another user, recovery of stolen or missing property, condition or authenticity of goods, successful delivery, provider honesty or future conduct, replacement of damaged property, or reimbursement merely because users met through WorkAbeg. KYC does not guarantee a user’s honesty, competence, safety or financial responsibility. Nothing excludes liability that applicable law does not permit WorkAbeg to exclude.

5. Accounts and Identity Verification

Users must provide accurate, current and complete information. Buyers and providers may be required to complete WorkAbeg identity verification. WorkAbeg may request additional information for KYC, fraud prevention, security, payments, legal compliance, disputes, account recovery or protection of users and may restrict an account, transaction, listing or withdrawal while a legitimate review is pending.

You may not impersonate another person, submit forged identification, create accounts to evade suspension, sell or rent an account, knowingly permit unauthorized use, or misrepresent identity or qualifications. You are responsible for credential security and must promptly report suspected unauthorized access.

6. Providers

Providers choose which lawful services to offer, subject to WorkAbeg rules. Providers are responsible for accurate listings, lawful prices, professional performance, agreed deliverables, legal compliance, required licences and certifications, equipment and expenses, taxes, and persons they involve in fulfilling an order.

WorkAbeg does not guarantee orders, customers, revenue or income. Where a service legally requires a professional licence, the provider represents that they possess it. Unless expressly labelled as independently verified, presence on WorkAbeg is not certification of professional qualifications.

7. Buyers

Buyers are responsible for accurate instructions, disclosure of relevant circumstances and risks, selecting providers, reviewing listings and deliverables, providing lawful access needed for an order, responding to legitimate questions, paying charges, inspecting submitted work and raising disputes within applicable deadlines. Buyers must not request unlawful, dangerous, deceptive or prohibited activities.

8. Orders Form a User-to-User Agreement

When a provider accepts an order, a transaction-specific agreement is formed between buyer and provider based on information recorded on WorkAbeg, including the service description, deliverables, price, deadlines, revisions and order instructions. WorkAbeg facilitates the transaction but is not ordinarily the provider of the underlying service.

9. Keep Transactions on WorkAbeg

Users must not use WorkAbeg to discover one another and then move the resulting transaction off-platform to avoid WorkAbeg fees, controls or payment protection. Prohibited circumvention includes requesting direct payment, deliberately exchanging contact information to bypass WorkAbeg, directing a user elsewhere to complete the same transaction, disguising phone/payment details, or placing contact information in images to defeat Platform controls.

WorkAbeg may investigate circumvention and warn, restrict, suspend or terminate involved accounts. Off-platform transactions are generally not eligible for WorkAbeg payment or dispute protection.

10. WorkAbeg Wallet and Payment Processing

WorkAbeg may display a wallet or account balance through which users can fund and participate in transactions. Underlying electronic payment, collection and payout services may be provided by licensed banks, processors or other authorized third-party payment providers.

The WorkAbeg Wallet is a Platform feature used to display and administer transaction-related value and is not represented as a bank or deposit account provided by WorkAbeg. Nothing in these Terms represents that WorkAbeg independently provides a regulated banking or mobile-money service for which regulatory authorization would be required. Payment providers may impose their own terms, limits and verification requirements.

11. Escrow and Payment Protection

When a buyer places an eligible order using available WorkAbeg funds, the applicable amount is designated and held for the transaction through WorkAbeg’s payment-protection system and supported payment infrastructure (“Escrow”). While pending, the protected amount is not available to the provider for unrestricted withdrawal.

After the provider uses Mark as Complete, Submit for Approval or an equivalent function, the buyer has 72 hours to accept the work or raise a qualifying dispute. Acceptance permits release. If the buyer does not act within 72 hours, WorkAbeg may treat the order as accepted and make provider funds eligible for release.

WorkAbeg may delay release for suspected fraud, unauthorized payment, chargeback, account compromise, illegality, safety concerns, regulatory requirements, technical error, active dispute or other legitimate risk concerns. Payment protection protects the transaction payment under WorkAbeg rules; it is not insurance against theft, property damage, personal injury, counterfeit goods or every possible user-to-user loss.

12. Fees

WorkAbeg may charge platform fees, commissions, processing-related charges, promotional fees or other charges. Applicable charges will be disclosed through the Platform or applicable fee information before the relevant transaction where required. WorkAbeg may change fees prospectively. Third-party banks or payment providers may impose separate charges.

13. Completion and Acceptance

The 72-hour acceptance period begins when the provider submits the work through the Platform as complete. Failure to raise an eligible dispute during that period may result in automatic acceptance and release. Exceptions may be made where required by law or for fraud, unauthorized payment, technical error, serious safety concerns or similar exceptional circumstances.

14. Cancellations

Before work begins: a valid buyer cancellation will generally return the applicable service amount, subject to lawful non-recoverable third-party charges and Platform rules.

After work begins: cancellation does not automatically create a full refund. WorkAbeg may consider work performed, reasonable expenses, completed deliverables, the reason for cancellation and responsibility for it, and may allocate a reasonable partial provider payment.

Provider cancellation: where a provider cancels without performing, the buyer will ordinarily receive the applicable service amount back. Repeated or abusive cancellations may lead to restrictions.

15. Attempted but Uncompleted Errands

Where credible evidence shows a provider reasonably performed material work but completion became impossible through no fault of the provider, WorkAbeg may authorize reasonable partial payment, considering time, travel, documented expenses, effort, communications and relevant on-platform evidence.

16. Revisions

Included revisions are determined by the applicable listing/order. Buyers are not entitled to unlimited revisions unless expressly offered. Materially out-of-scope requests may require a new order or additional payment.

17. Disputes

Transaction disputes are governed by the Dispute Resolution Policy. Ordinary performance, quality, scope or completion disputes should be opened before the 72-hour acceptance period expires.

WorkAbeg may release full payment, provide a full refund, allocate partial payment/refund, facilitate a reasonable revision, cancel the transaction or apply another reasonable remedy. WorkAbeg’s internal determination is final for administration of the transaction, but does not eliminate rights or remedies that applicable law does not permit a consumer to waive.

18. Evidence

For scope, price, deliverables, completion and ordinary performance, WorkAbeg primarily relies on Platform records including listings, orders, in-app messages, submitted files, supported photos/videos, timestamps, payment and completion records. Off-platform communications generally cannot modify the protected transaction, but may be considered for fraud, threats, harassment, safety, circumvention, illegal activity or Community Guidelines violations.

19. Chargebacks and Payment Abuse

Users must not knowingly initiate fraudulent, duplicative or abusive chargebacks. To the extent permitted by law, WorkAbeg may investigate, restrict accounts, suspend withdrawals, preserve records, reverse available promotional or wallet credits where appropriate, recover amounts lawfully owed, provide evidence to payment providers and terminate accounts engaged in abuse. Legitimate statutory or payment-network rights remain unaffected.

20. Physical Property and Errands

A provider may agree to inspect, collect, purchase, deliver or handle lawful property where permitted. WorkAbeg does not thereby take custody. The provider accepting custody is responsible for their conduct and reasonable care. Users should exercise additional caution with high-value property. WorkAbeg does not guarantee recovery or payment of its value and may cooperate with lawful investigations.

21. Prohibited Activities

Users must comply with the Community Guidelines. Prohibited uses include illegal goods/services, controlled drugs, unlawful weapons or explosives, fraud, stolen property, money laundering, unauthorized financial-account access, credential theft, impersonation, forged documents, sexual services, trafficking or exploitation, unlawful gambling, unauthorized hacking or cybercrime, violence, stalking, unlawful surveillance, academic cheating, harassment, hateful abuse and intellectual-property infringement. Legitimate authorized cybersecurity services may be permitted.

22. Reviews and Ratings

Reviews must reflect genuine experiences. Users may not purchase positive reviews, fabricate transactions, threaten negative reviews for benefits, manipulate ratings or publish knowingly false allegations. WorkAbeg may remove fraudulent, abusive, irrelevant, unlawful or policy-violating reviews and does not guarantee user-generated review accuracy.

23. Tips

Tips are voluntary. Except where law requires otherwise or a payment is duplicate, unauthorized or erroneous, a successfully completed voluntary tip may be treated as final. Applicable processing rules may apply.

24. Sponsored Services

Providers may purchase promotional placement. Sponsorship purchases promotional opportunity or visibility and does not guarantee ranking, impressions, clicks, orders, revenue or commercial success. Sponsorship is not WorkAbeg endorsement or guarantee.

25. Rewards and Promotions

WorkAbeg may operate referrals, draws, leaderboards and incentives under specific promotional rules. Promotional benefits are not guaranteed income or vested cash entitlements merely because a user expects to qualify. WorkAbeg may investigate manipulation, self-referrals, duplicate accounts and artificial transactions; disqualify fraudulent participation; correct errors; and modify or discontinue future promotions. Legitimately earned and awarded benefits will not ordinarily be retroactively removed without valid reason.

26. Intellectual Property

WorkAbeg and its licensors retain rights in Platform software, trademarks, branding, interface, proprietary functionality and WorkAbeg-created content. Except as permitted by law or expressly authorized, users may not commercially exploit WorkAbeg software, scrape at scale, clone protected elements, misuse trademarks, circumvent technical restrictions or reverse engineer protected software.

27. User Content

Users retain ownership of content they lawfully own. By submitting content, users grant WorkAbeg a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, format, resize, display, distribute and otherwise use it as reasonably necessary to operate and secure WorkAbeg, provide services, resolve disputes, promote public WorkAbeg listings and comply with law. Users represent they have necessary rights to uploaded content.

28. Provider Deliverables

Unless the applicable order expressly provides otherwise, WorkAbeg does not determine ownership of intellectual property created by a provider for a buyer. Buyer and provider are responsible for agreeing ownership/licensing terms. Providers may not supply material that unlawfully infringes third-party rights.

29. Suspension and Termination

Depending on severity, WorkAbeg may warn users, remove content/listings, restrict features, suspend transactions, delay payouts where legally permissible, temporarily suspend or permanently terminate access. Immediate restrictions may be imposed for suspected fraud, account compromise, illegal activity, serious KYC concerns, threats, safety risks, chargeback abuse or serious misuse. Users may request review. Relevant records may be preserved after termination where legally required or reasonably necessary.

30. No Employment Relationship

Use of WorkAbeg does not by itself create an employment relationship between WorkAbeg and a provider. Providers are responsible for independent business obligations. Nothing eliminates statutory rights that cannot lawfully be excluded based on the actual circumstances.

31. Platform Availability

WorkAbeg does not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. The Platform may be unavailable because of maintenance, third-party outages, security incidents, network failures, upgrades or circumstances outside WorkAbeg’s reasonable control.

32. Disclaimers

To the maximum extent permitted by law, WorkAbeg does not guarantee user conduct, provider quality or suitability, successful completion of every transaction, availability of particular services, earnings or demand, recovery of physical property, uninterrupted operation, accuracy of every user-generated statement, or a particular dispute outcome. Nothing excludes warranties, duties or consumer rights that applicable law does not permit to be excluded.

33. Limitation of Liability

IMPORTANT — THIS SECTION AFFECTS LEGAL RIGHTS AND ALLOCATES RISK.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, WorkAbeg will not be responsible for losses arising solely from acts or omissions of independent users, voluntary entrustment of property to another user, off-platform transactions, unauthorized arrangements outside WorkAbeg, user-provided false information, loss of anticipated profit or opportunity not directly caused by WorkAbeg, third-party payment-provider failures outside WorkAbeg’s reasonable control, or events beyond WorkAbeg’s reasonable control.

Nothing purports to exclude liability prohibited from exclusion under applicable law, including liability arising from WorkAbeg’s own conduct where legally non-excludable.

34. Indemnity

IMPORTANT — THIS SECTION MAY REQUIRE YOU TO COMPENSATE WORKABEG FOR CERTAIN THIRD-PARTY CLAIMS CAUSED BY YOUR CONDUCT.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify WorkAbeg and its officers, employees and affiliates against third-party claims, liabilities, losses and reasonable costs arising from your unlawful conduct, services, property you supply or handle, infringement caused by your content, licensing or tax violations, fraud, material breach of these Terms or misuse of the Platform. This does not require indemnification for liability the law places on WorkAbeg and does not permit it to transfer.

35. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, without prejudice to mandatory rights that apply and cannot lawfully be waived. Users accessing WorkAbeg from another country remain responsible for laws applicable to them.

36. User-to-WorkAbeg Complaints

Before formal proceedings against WorkAbeg, users should send a written complaint with sufficient details to legal@workabeg.com and allow a good-faith attempt at resolution. Where appropriate, the parties may explore mediation or other lawful alternative dispute resolution. Nothing prevents access to regulators, courts or other remedies where applicable law grants that right.

37. Changes to These Terms

WorkAbeg may update these Terms for legal, regulatory, security, product or business changes. Material changes will receive reasonable notice where required or appropriate. Changes apply prospectively and will not secretly rewrite a completed transaction.

38. Business Transfers

Subject to applicable law, WorkAbeg may transfer relevant agreements, assets and information in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, restructuring or sale of all or part of its business.

39. Severability and No Waiver

If a provision is found unenforceable, remaining provisions continue to the extent legally possible. Failure by WorkAbeg to enforce a provision on one occasion does not constitute permanent waiver.

40. Contact

Legal questions concerning these Terms may be sent to legal@workabeg.com.
